The weight loss shot drink that is favoured by celebrities. BoomBod is the must have diet drink for 2022 and available now. Is it too good to be true?

BoomBod review

In a nutshell: Boombod is great looking weight loss drink aimed women. It has jumped on the Instagram influencer bandwagon and enlisted celebrities such as Amber Rose, Katie Price and the girls from UK reality TV show Geordie Shore.

When you remove the layer of advertising you are left another pink weight loss drink to sit alongside countless others.

Our recommendation is if you are serious about your weight loss choose a serious weight loss product. One women focused diet product that is arguably the best of the bunch is LeanBean

What is BoomBod

Boombod 7 Day Achiever is a weight loss drink that’s big in the UK and is becoming increasingly popular overseas. The United States, Canada and Australia are selling BoomBod in 2022.

Weight management products can work in different ways. Most of the best ones provide support in several areas. Boombod is primarily an appetite suppressant.

The good news is, it contains a natural ingredient that works. It’s called glucomannan. However, you don’t have to buy Boombod to take advantage of glucomannan’s ability to suppress hunger. There are numerous cheaper products you can get it from instead.

Although it has a few additional whistles and bells, this is not really such a special product. Its present popularity could be largely attributable to clever marketing. Boombod is a glitzy glucomannan product that has many celebrity endorsements. The problem is, most of the celebrities appear to be promoting the product to make money.

Many of the endorsements are questionable and a couple of them had to be removed from Pinterest. This being the case, it may be a good idea to ignore the hype, concentrate on the product itself, and explore its genuine value as a weight loss aid.

Who Makes Boombod?

Boombod is made by Boombod Ltd. There’s nothing funny going on. It’s a real company registered with British Companies House.

The company has been trading since July 2013. Prior to February 2016, it was using the name WE R Brand Ltd.

Who is it for?

Boombod is a weight-loss product primarily aimed at women. It’s a powder you mix with water and consume as a drink. The manufacturer likes to refer to the drinks as “shots”.

You take three shots per day. Each one is slightly different:

  • Morning Energizer
  • Afternoon Motivator
  • Night Rejuvenator

All three shots provide one full gram of glucomannan fiber. They also provide a combination of vitamins and minerals to energize, motivate, or rejuvenate you.

However, if your diet is sufficiently nutrient-rich, you are unlikely to see much of a difference. If it’s not, you may get a similar level of benefit by taking a good multi-vitamin and mineral pill. Doing so would certainly be a cheaper way to go.

Most weight management supplements are sold in a 30-day supply. Boombod is not. The standard pack only lasts for a week. It’s called 7-Day Achiever.

  • Morning Energizer: Aids energy and metabolism
  • Afternoon Motivator: Reduces weariness and fatigue
  • Night Rejuvenator: Rejuvenates hair and skin

Boombod Ingredient Profile and Supplement Facts

Each shot contains a slightly different blend of glucomannan and vitamins and minerals. As you can see from the supplement information provided below, the differences are minimal.

Boombod In Detail (What the Ingredients Do)

Make no bones about it. The key ingredient is glucomannan.

Glucomannan: What It Is and What to Expect

Glucomannan is an ingredient that comes from the roots of an Asian plant. It has many names. One of them is Voodoo Lilly. Another is elephant yam.

The roots are high in water-soluble fiber and are refined into a powder before they are put to use.

Glucomannan flour has culinary value. Among other things, it’s an ingredient in low-calorie noodles. However, that’s in the east. Here in the west, glucomannan is mostly seen as a diet pill ingredient.

Glucomannan flour is highly absorbent. That’s what makes it so special. It’s capable of absorbing up to 50 times its own weight in water.

If you consume glucomannan with a sufficient amount of water, the fibers will expand in your stomach and form a gel that will reduce your appetite and control your hunger.

Sounds good, doesn’t it? But at this point, you are probably asking yourself if glucomannan really works. The good news is, numerous studies show that it does.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has evaluated all of the most important research and confirm the ingredient works. Nevertheless, the EFSA states glucomannan needs to be used in a certain way.

The EFSA says it’s necessary to take three doses per day. Each dose should be no less than one gram and you have to take them before meals. Additionally, the EFSA points out the need to take each dose with one to two glasses of water. It also stresses the need for an energy-reduced diet.

Additional Ingredients

All the additional ingredients are vitamins and minerals.

The Morning Energizer and Afternoon Motivator formulations contain several B vitamins. Vitamins B6 and B12 are the most obvious inclusions but riboflavin, thiamine, and biotin are B Vitamins too.

B vitamins aid energy metabolism. That’s a fancy way of saying they help you get energy from food. The next time you have access to an energy drink, pick up the can and look on the back. You will almost certainly find two or more B vitamins listed there.

Biotin (Vitamin B7) is necessary for healthy nails, skin, and hair. Its presence should help the Night Rejuvenator formulation fulfill its aim.

The Night Rejuvenator formulation also contains Vitamin D3, which appears to be good for treating acne.

Here’s a quick heads-up for vegans and vegetarians. There are two forms of Vitamin D used in supplements—D2 and D3. Vitamin D2 comes from plants. Vitamin D3 is only found in animal-sourced foods.

Boombod’s Dosage and Usage Guidelines

As with any other weight management supplement, it would be unwise to use Boombod if you are a lady who is pregnant or nursing a child.

If you have any existing health issues or would need to use the product in conjunction with medication, I suggest you seek a doctor’s guidance before incorporating Boombod into your weight management regimen.

Making the drink is easy. Thanks to the use of one-shot sachets, there is no weighing or scooping involved. It’s just a case of getting a medium-size glass, quarter filling it with water, and adding the powder.

However, you need to mix it fast and drink it quick. If you don’t, you will find yourself holding a glass full of colored sludge.

After you’ve knocked back the shot, you will need to follow it up with a full glass of water. You need to follow this process three times per day, 30 minutes before meals.

Results will only be forthcoming if you use Boombod alongside a healthy, low-calorie diet.

Boombod Celebrity Endorsements

The Boombod marketing campaign gets a lot of help from celebrity endorsements. Most of them are made via Instagram.

Boombod Celebrity Endorsements
Amber Rose is a fan of BoomBod, apparently

The American actress and model Amber Rose has gone to great lengths to promote Boombod on Instagram. One of her videos shows her mixing the drink. Strangely, it doesn’t show her actually drinking it, but she does mention the Boombod website address several times and ends her presentation by stating, “Make sure you go to Boombod.com right now.” (https://www.instagram.com/p/BkNUc4TlpVh/?hl=en)

Does that sound like paid advertising to you?

Amber Rose is not the only American model pushing Boombod. Blac Chyna is doing it too. So are many other celebrities including reality TV star Chloe Ferry (Geordie Shores).

I don’t think I’ve ever had to review a product that has so many celebrity endorsements but many of the celebrities are honest enough to post their endorsements with a #ad.

Celebrities are not health experts. If they like a product, that’s great. When it works for them, that’s better. If they are being paid to say they are using a product that’s a different kettle of fish.  Most people aren’t paid to use products, they have to invest their own money.

Banned on Pinterest

Former page-3 pinup Katie Price (Jordan) began pushing Boombod via her Instagram account in March 2019. By October, the ads had to be taken down. A similar thing happened with the UK celeb, Lauren Goodger.

The problem was all the health claims the girls were making.  Several people complained and the complaints were upheld by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

The ASA says the ads breach the rules about health claims and promote the dieting product in an irresponsible manner.

Whether or not the ads stay down remains to be seen. Boombod is liaising with Goodger and Price in an attempt to rectify the issue. (https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/Boombod-weight-loss-product-ads-on-katie-price-and-lauren-goodger-instagrams-banned-a4268296.html)

Boombod Customer Reviews

The Boombod website displays customer reviews from the Trustpilot website. The overall rating is excellent.

Good BoomBod reviews
BoomBod’s is positive according to TrustPilot

However, Boombod monitors the responses and does its best to have them removed if they are unfavorable.

BoomBod bad reviews
BoomBod bad reviews are just as common

When I took a closer look at some of the positive reviews I was surprised to discover so many of them are by people who don’t normally review their purchases via the Trustpilot website. I thought that was strange until I discovered Boombod had invited them to go to Trustpilot and leave a review.

Boombod is also available via Amazon and Amazon customer reviews are split down the middle. Some buyers praise the product, others say it does not work and there are a lot of people complaining about the taste and texture.

BoomBod rating on Amazon

Does it Cause Side Effects

Boombod is a natural product that provides a combination of dietary fiber and nutrients. It doesn’t matter what product you buy, you can never rule out the prospect of side effects. However, in this case, the chances of side effects are pretty slim.

Does Boombod Work?

Boombod contains one of the best natural appetite suppressing ingredients in the world and the dose it provides is correct. It should support your dieting attempts by controlling your hunger. This will make it easier for you to eat less food. If your diet is sufficiently low in calories, you will lose weight.

Apart from glucomannan, the formulation also contains some vitamins and minerals. That’s not a bad thing but it’s not a great selling point either. Many foods are fortified with vitamins and minerals in a similar way.

The thing to remember is, if your diet is already sufficiently nutrient-rich, you won’t need the extra nutrients Boombod provides.

There are any number of glucomannan diet pills that provide the same dose of glucomannan. All of them can suppress appetite and will do so at a fraction of the price. Boombod is just glucomannan with a gimmick and a clever marketing campaign.

Ask yourself why you are considering buying the product in the first place. Is it because it seems like the trendy way to go or because you are serious about losing weight?

Boombod Buying Options and Considerations

If you have a local Holland & Barrett health food store, that may be the best place to go. If not, the only option will be to buy Boombod online.

There’s a couple of options available. The first one is to buy Boombod direct from the manufacturer’s website. The second option is to buy it from Amazon.

As is so often the case, Amazon has the best prices. At the time of this review, the Amazon price for Boombod 7- Day Achiever was $19.99. The price on the Boombod website was $20 more.

Although $19.99 does not appear a bad price, you need to remember this is the cost of a 7-day supply. If you want to use Boombod for a month, you will be looking at paying just under $80 from Amazon and nearly $160 if you buy via the Boombod website.

Paint it any way you want, this is an expensive product to use. If you compare the cost of using Boombod for a month with the cost of using any of the top-rated diet pills you will discover the product is not at all competitively priced.

Recommended Alternative: Our recommendation in the female diet category is LeanBean. A serious weight loss product that contains natural and yet proven ingredients.

After-Sales Service and Guarantee

Customers who need to contact Boombod can do so via the online form on the official site. The company also provides an Essex mailing address.

If you are thinking of jumping on the Boombod bandwagon you also need to be aware the company fails to offer a guarantee. If you buy Boombod and find it doesn’t work, a refund won’t be on the cards.
