Juanita the Ice Maiden was found in southern Peru and is believed to be the remains of a 15th century Incan girl
about 12–14 years old at the time of her death. Based on scientist and archaeologists' hypotheses, it is thought
that Juanita was a human sacrifice to appease the Incan mountain god Apus which supports the theory that human
sacrifice was practiced during the Inca empire.
