The Sample Collection Map is a geographical representation of the more than 70,000 DNA samples that SMGF has collected to date. These samples have provided a variety of genetic and genealogical data unique to SMGF, making the SMGF databases truly global in nature.

The Lineage Maps (Y-Chromosome and mtDNA) represent participants' ancestors' genetic contribution at a specific time and place. On either the Y-chromosome or mtDNA world distribution map, you are able to choose a year and then click on a specific country to reveal how many paternal or maternal ancestry lines in the database correspond to that particular time and place. This unique representation is possible because of the genealogical data donated to the SMGF project along with each DNA sample.
